The following projects are included in the City's  5-Year Capital Improvement Program:


2021 Concrete Street and Sidewalk Replacement and Crack Sealing (Various Wards)

Each year, we have a concrete street and sidewalk replacement project throughout many of the City’s subdivisions.  This project is bid during January. Construction begins each year around mid-March and is typically completed by August. For this year, a total of $850,000 has been budgeted for street replacement in the following subdivisions.

2021 Asphalt Resurfacing (Various Wards)

During the week of June 21st 2021, the City will be resurfacing several City Streets throughout Wildwood. West Contracting will be completing the work. For this year, a total of $350,000 has been budgeted for resurfacing.

2021 - Manchester Road Shared Use Path (Ward 1) 

This project will construct a 10’ wide shared use path along Manchester Road between State Route 109 to Pond Road/Christy Avenue.   The City was awarded federal funding for this project. Easement acquisition is being completed during the spring.  

  • Budgeted Construction Cost = $1,250,000 = $741,500 City + $508,500 Federal
  • Budgeted Right of Way Cost = $100,000

2021 - Strecker Road Sidewalk Project (Ward 2 and Ward 4)

The goal of this project is to provide a continuous sidewalk along Strecker Road between Englebrook Drive to the Ellisville City Limit. Design of this project is underway. The first phase of the project will construct an 850’ long segment of sidewalk from Englebrook Drive to the east.

  • Budgeted Construction Cost = $235,000 

2021 - Evergreen Forest Curb Replacement (Ward 5)

This project will remove and replace about the existing deficient asphalt curbs in Evergreen Forest Subdivision. This project, which is being constructed by Fosters Concrete, is expected to be completed in 2021 by the end of May.

2021 - Birch Forest Drive Turn Around (Ward 5)

This project will remove the existing temporary asphalt cul-de-sac located at the end of Birch Forest Drive (West) and replace it with a permanent turnaround.

2022 - Center Avenue Reconstruction (Ward 8)

This project will resurface and widen Center Avenue from Manchester Road to Bordeaux Estates Ct./Falstone Mill Ct. 

  • Budgeted Construction Cost = $300,000

 2022 - Route 109 Sidewalk Improvement Project (Ward 8) 

This project will construct sidewalk along the east side of Route 109 from Manchester Road to Viola Gill Lane.

 2022 - Woods Road Flood Mitigation Project (Ward 6)

The City will reduce the occurrence of flooding on Woods Avenue between State Route 109 and Manchester Road. The project will remove and replace several existing hydraulically deficient culverts and improve the channel. 

  • Budgeted Construction Cost = $800,000 (2022)
  • Budgeted Final Design Cost = $85,000 (2020)
  • Planned Construction Year = 2022

2023 - Manchester Road and Taylor Road Resurfacing and Traffic Signal Improvement Project (Ward 7 and Ward 8)

This project will upgrade the City’s three traffic signals (Manchester Road at Pierside Lane, Manchester Road at Schnucks Wildwood Crossing, and Taylor Road at Main Street) as well as resurface Taylor Road from Manchester Road to Route 100 and resurface Manchester Road from east of Old Fairway to Route 100. Design of this project is underway.  The city is expecting to receive federal funds to construct the project. 

  • Budgeted Construction Cost = $1,800,000 ($360,000 City + $1,440,000 Federal) (2023)

2023 - Route 109 and BA South Roundabout (Ward 1 and Ward 3)

This project will construct a new roundabout at the intersection of Hwy 109 and Route BA South (Babler Park Dr). This project will reduce traffic congestion and safety at the intersection.

  • Budgeted Construction Cost = $1,465,000 = $293,000 City + $1,172,000 Federal (2023)
  • Budgeted Design Cost = $185,000 (2021)
  • Budgeted Right of Way Cost = $50,000 (2022)

2023 - Bridge 386 & Bridge 387 over Wild Horse Creek - Replacement (Ward 1)

This project will prepare remove and replace Bridge #386 and Bridge #387 over Wildhorse Creek on Wild Horse Creek Road.   The city received federal funding for this project.

2024 - Strecker Road Sidewalks – Segment E/F

This project will complete sidewalks on the south side of Strecker Rd from Timber Ridge Estates Dr southeast to Strecker Pines Ct.

  • Budgeted Construction Cost = $200,000 (Construct in 2024)
  • Budgeted Right of Way Cost = $50,000 (2023)
  • Budgeted Design Cost = $25,000 (2022)

 2024 - Eatherton Road Improvement Project (Ward 8)

The City is designing improvements to Eatherton Road from Manchester Road north to Cambury Lane. The improved road is proposed to include a sidewalk (along the west side), 10’ trail (along the east side), storm sewers, and lighting.  

  • Budgeted Construction Cost = $2,650,000 (Construct in 2024)
  • Budgeted Right of Way Cost = $250,000 (2023)
  • Budgeted Final Design Cost = $95,000 (2022)

 2024 - Alt Road Flood Mitigation Project (Ward 6)

This project will re-build and raise a section of Alt Road at State Route 109 to provide flood free access. 

  • Budgeted Construction Cost = $750,000 (Construct in 2024)
  • Budgeted Right of Way Cost = $15,000 (2023)
  • Budgeted Final Design Cost = $30,000 (2023)

 2024 - Fullerton Meadows Median Islands (Ward 5)

This project consists of installing median islands in the widest portion of Fullerton Meadows Drive from approximately Balaji Court west to just west of Shiva Ct. The median islands will provide traffic calming and improve aesthetics.

  • Budgeted Construction Cost = $125,000 (Construct in 2024)

 2024 - Bouquet Road Culverts #340 and #352 Replacement (Ward 6)

This project will remove and replace two existing structurally deficient concrete box culverts under Bouquet Road.

2025 - Old State Road Shared Use Path (Ward 7 and Ward 8)

This project will construct a new shared use path, on the north side of Old State Rd, from Nantucket Meadows Dr east to Old State Pl Dr.

  • Budgeted Right of Way Cost = $100,000 (2025)
  • Budgeted Final Design Cost = $160,000 (2024)

 2025 - Pond Grover Loop Median Islands (Ward 5)

This project consists of installing median islands in the widest portion of Pond Grover Loop Dr.   from approximately Hwy 109 east to the new Pond Grover Park. The median islands will provide traffic calming and improve aesthetics.

 2025 - Bridge 385 and Replacements (Ward 1)

This project will replace Bridges #385 over a tributary of Wildhorse Creek on Ossenfort Road.
