The Barkley Marathons Film Presentation

About a year ago, the City of  Wildwood partnered with the B & B Theater, Terrain Trail Runners, and Terrain Magazine to present fun, adventurous, and interesting films about outdoor events that require fitness, determination and, well, a little lunacy! To our surprise, the films that have been shown to this point have all sold out! Hopefully, this next production will not be an exception!! On Friday, March 11, 2016, The Barkley Marathons will be presented at the B & B Theater, at 7:00 p.m. Never heard of the Barkley Marathons? Many people haven’t! It’s labeled as a race that eats its young! It’s a trail race/run that began in 1986 and, since that time, only 14 runners have finished before the established cut-off!!

The Barkley Marathons is a documentary film about this incredible event and the people that train to attempt it!! The film was awarded the Best Documentary during the Kansas City Film Festival, received the Best Audience Awards, during the Austin Film Festival and the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival, and was a top 20 Audience Favorite at the HOT DOCS  Film Festival!!  The City of Wildwood and its partners bring this showing to your attention BECAUSE THERE ARE STILL SEATS AVAILABLE!!! Come early, enjoy talking to like-minded and friendly people, enjoy some refreshments, and prepare to watch an incredible film!!!
