NEW OR TIME-SENSITIVE INFORMATION >>>

2017 Farmers Market in Wildwood

*** This Saturday, June 10, 2017 ***

New Location - In Front of City Hall - 16860 Main Street

The City’s Farmers Market officially opened its 2017 Season on May 13th. The market will now be open every Saturday, through the fall, starting at 8:30 a.m. and continuing until 12:30 p.m. Returning managers of the market, Rene’ and George Sackett, continue to promote a “producers only” type of facility, with an emphasis on locally-grown, produced, or made products being offered. The intent of this type of "producers only" market is to foster an atmosphere that provides its customers with items they can trust using in their homes and produce they can feel good about eating!

As always, the Wildwood Farmers Market continues to be the location where you can obtain the freshest produce, baked goods, and other items of interest in west St. Louis County and many of the vendors from past years are here again. Along with those vendors who have served you, and many residents, for the past eight (8) years, new participants are here in 2017 as well. Along with the vendors, there are always refreshments, food, and music to round out the atmosphere and create a great and fun place to visit.

So, remember, to visit the Wildwood Farmers Market, every Saturday through the fall, with plenty of convenient parking right next to it. Come on out and meet the market managers and make it a morning in Wildwood. Please feel free to contact the market managers, Rene’ and George Sackett, at marketmaster@wildwoodfarmersmarket.org, with any questions or suggestions, and visit www.wildwoodfarmersmarket.org for updates throughout the season.

The Results Are In - Internet Access

The Rural Internet Access Committee (RIAC), a group of citizen volunteers, recently authorized a survey be conducted of certain areas of Wildwood to determine the current levels of service relating to high-speed internet access. The City of Wildwood mailed over 3,000 surveys to these identified areas and received over 500 responses (a great return rate on a mailer of this nature). The results of this survey have been quantified and published. To review this information, please click on the following link: www.cityofwildwood.com/documentcenter/view/3533. If you should have questions or comments in this regard, please contact the Department of Planning at (636) 458-0440. To all who participated in this survey, thank you!

Just a Reminder #1
- Old State Road Resurfacing Project -

The St. Louis County Department of Transportation, and their contractor, Krupp Construction, continues the work on the resurfacing of Old State Road, from State Route 109 to Old Fairway Drive. This project is tentatively scheduled for completion by August 2017. Expect lengthy delays during the contractor's work hours on Old State Road, which are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Again, during the pavement repair work, traffic through the work area will be restricted to a single-lane, two-way operation, and motorists, and particularly large trucks, are encouraged to use other routes, if possible.

Just a Reminder #2
- Route 100 Pavement Improvements -

The Missouri Department of Transportation, and their contractor, Parking Lot Maintenance, has started its work on an improvement project on State Route 100, from west of State Route 109 to Franklin County. The contractor has started with partial depth pavement repairs during the nighttime hours. During the pavement repair work, traffic through the work area will be restricted to a single-lane, two-way operation, and motorists are encouraged to use other routes to avoid delays.

Storm Preparedness Tips from Ameren Missouri

April began the spring storm season, so preparedness is on everyone's priority list. At Ameren Missouri, when severe weather threatens, Ameren relies on Quantum Weather, a unique weather forecasting system in partnership with Saint Louis University's (SLU) Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences.  Quantum Weather, another part of Ameren Missouri's reliability initiative, can pinpoint severe weather activity on a neighborhood-by-neighborhood basis. The detailed information from this pioneering system improves reliability for customers. It enables Ameren Missouri to respond and restore power more quickly following damaging storms, and improves efficiencies through better utilization of its restoration crews. Quantum Weather is the first-of-its-kind weather monitoring and response system in the country.

Add storm preparedness to your priority list, and please visit AmerenMissouri.com to check out the detailed tips on Ameren’s Outage Center pages:

  • Report an outage and sign up for Ameren Alerts to receive updates, after you've reported your outage to Ameren.
  • Check out the Outage Map to see how many customers systemwide are experiencing outages, and where.
