City Hall Closed on November 10, 2017, 
in Honor of Veterans Day

City Hall Offices will be closed on Friday, November 10, 2017, in honor of Veterans Day. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, November 13, 2017, with City Hall opening at 8:00 a.m. There will be no change in trash pick-up this week.

Hopefully, some time during this day, everyone can take a moment and extend their appreciation to a veteran for his or her service to this great country and the sacrifices these men and women have made to keep America free and a beacon of hope for the rest of the world. Information on the April 3, 2018 Municipal Election

On Saturday, October 28, 2017, candidates interested in the upcoming municipal election could begin collecting signatures on Nominating Petitions.

Election Information:
Filing OPENS on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 8:00 a.m.
Filing can be completed between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday
Filing CLOSES on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.
A filing fee of $10.00 is required made payable to: The City of Wildwood. Credit cards cannot be accepted at this time.

April 3, 2018 is Election Day.

Do you want to be a City Council Member in the City of Wildwood?

You must meet the following Qualifications of Candidates for City Council Member:
* Serves a term of two (2) years;
* Must be a registered voter;
* A resident of Wildwood one (1) year preceding his/her election;
* A resident of the Ward for one (1) year preceding his/her election; and
* Must not be in default on any City taxes, fines, or financial obligations to the City.

Nominating Petitions:

Candidates for City Council Member shall be by petition filed by the nominee. Signatures shall be valid only if obtained not earlier than forty-five (45) days prior to the first day of filing. Therefore, no signatures are valid, prior to Saturday, October 28, 2017. No person shall be allowed to be nominated for more than one (1) office at a time.

Prior to filing for the office of City Council Member, you must complete a Nominating Petition and have it signed by not less than twenty-five (25) registered voters of the residents of the Ward. This petition must be submitted at the time of filing for the office of City Council Member.

“Wildwood 2020”

Mayor Bowlin has announced his vision plan for the City of Wildwood during the City Council Work Session held on Monday, October 9, 2017.  The plan was developed based on input from residents and other stakeholders, and calls for improving residential experience and a renewed focus on the City’s original plans, said Mayor Bowlin. 

“I’m very committed to things that benefit our residents and businesses, and there’s so much we can do to make Wildwood even better for them. My plan incorporates ways to make that happen with optimal cost efficiency,” said the Mayor. The plan includes several proposed projects that will benefit residents in all eight wards, along with implementation guidelines that include resident participation and input.

The next Early Childhood Recreation program is November 15 and 16, 2017 and will feature a great program - Mad Science (click on this link for more about these sessions - stlouis.madscience.org. The Wildwood Trail Marathon 

... is a great wrap up to any runners racing season, whether you run road or trail, novice or experienced, the course will not disappoint. There will be miles and miles of great running, through some of the beautiful trails located within the City of Wildwood and nearby unincorporated  area of St. Louis County. Wildwood Frozen Feet Half Marathon Trail Run   

OK Readers - Pay Attention to this One!!

The 8th Annual Wildwood Frozen Feet Half Marathon Trail Run is scheduled for January 20, 2018. This popular run starts and finishes at LaSalle Springs Middle School and covers 13.1 miles of beautiful Wildwood trails! This run has become one of the top rated trail runs in the St. Louis Metro Area and has filled to capacity the last three years. The race cap has been raised this year to three fifty hundred (350) participants, but registration is already over one-half full, so don't delay ... sign-up now. You will not find a better trail running value than the Wildwood Frozen Feet Trail Run!! Organizers wanted to put on a quality trail running event that was challenging, fun, and affordable ….. and that has been accomplished. 

An unbelievable trail run, plenty of food and drink, finisher medals for everyone crossing the finish line, a wonderfully warm and comfortable hooded sweatshirt, and awards to the top three finishers in each of the five year age groups!! The run is doable by runners of any experience level, but will  present a subtle challenge to those wanting to be competitive! Runners will pass an aide station seven (7) times on the course, where water will be available, but if you want/require special needs, come self-contained! January 20, 2018 is a long way off, but registration is already open and large number of veteran Frozen Feet runners have immediately registered!! Needless to say, the event will likely fill long before 2018 even arrives!!!

Paper applications are also available and can be mailed to Wildwood City Hall, 16860 Main Street, Wildwood, Missouri 63040. The Wildwood Frozen Feet Half Marathon Trail Run is a great event for those just breaking into trail running or doing their first half marathon. Get 'Into' the Great Outdoors

The cooler temperatures of Autumn have arrived and the City's outdoor pavilions are a great gathering place for any event. Reserve yours now, as rentals are booking up!
 
Anniversary Park and Old Pond School Park have great outdoor pavilions available for your families and friends to join you on your special celebrations. The pavilions at Anniversary Park and Old Pond School hold up to thirty (30) people. The parks have playground equipment and also provide picnic tables.

The City's new Community Park has a pavilion, with convenient restrooms a part of it, that seats over one hundred (100). Nearby is the all-inclusive playground and the great outdoors!

Historical Society Annual Bus Tour - 2017

The Wildwood Historical Society's 18th Annual Bus Tour will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017. The morning tour leaves at 9:00 a.m., while the afternoon tour leaves at 1:00 p.m., both departing from the Wildwood Historical Society (WHS) Meeting Hall, at 18750 Highway 100, Wildwood, Missouri 63039. Please note bus seating is limited, and reservations are first-come, first-serve. Reservations are $35.00 per person, with lunch included. The Wildwood Historical Society (WHS) will confirm your reservation by e-mail, after it is received. Wildwood Family YMCA's Kids Night Out 

The Wildwood Family YMCA offers Kids Night Out events monthly throughout the school year. These events allow kids ages 5-12 to enjoy the YMCA and themed-based programming, while parents get the night out. Activities include swimming, games, sports, dinner, crafts, and friendship. Concessions are available for purchase. Kids should wear gym shoes and bring a swimsuit and towel. Families don’t need to be YMCA members to enjoy this program. A minimum of 10 kids must be registered by 6:00 p.m. the Friday before the event for the YMCA to host the event. Advance registration is appreciated.

The Shoeman Water Project Shoe Drive Continues at

Wildwood City Hall

American Flag Disposal

The City of Wildwood accepts retired American flags for dignified disposal.  Please bring worn flags to City Hall, 16860 Main Street, and leave them with the receptionist. All flags collected will be relinquished to the Boy Scouts of America for proper disposal. US Flags should never be placed in the trash.
