Mayor Bowlin has announced his vision plan for the City of Wildwood during the City Council Work Session held on Monday, October 9, 2017.  The plan was developed based on input from residents and other stakeholders, and calls for improving residential experience and a renewed focus on the City’s original plans, said Mayor Bowlin.

“I’m very committed to things that benefit our residents and businesses, and there’s so much we can do to make Wildwood even better for them. My plan incorporates ways to make that happen with optimal cost efficiency,” said the Mayor. The plan includes several proposed projects that will benefit residents in all eight wards, along with implementation guidelines that include resident participation and input.

is Underway in Wildwood for 2018

Since the inception of the City in 1995, the City has always spent much of the spring and summer months improving many of the roadways you use in Wildwood. 2018 will not be an exception. This year has a full slate of improvements, including concrete slab replacement in many of the City's residential subdivisions. The subdivisions to be impacted by this program for the 2018 Construction Season include the following: Wildhorse, Wilderness at Wild Horse, Winding Woods, Babler Park Estates, Pond-Grover Loop Road, Hickory Manor, Westglen Farms, Winding Trails, Shadowridge, Chesterfield Valley, Prestwick Place, Harbors at Lake Chesterfield, Westridge Oaks, and Lafayette Trails. The work began in March and will carry forward until late June/Early July 2018. The order of the named subdivisions that are provided above is chronological, meaning Wildhorse Subdivision will be the first area to have work underway, with Lafayette Trails ending the program in mid-summer.

AMEREN MISSOURI AGREES TO INVEST IN
NEW RELIABILITY UPGRADES FOR
WILDWOOD RESIDENTS

Aerial Inspections have Begun

Over the course of the past few years, parts of Wildwood have experienced an above-average number of power outages, particularly in the areas of Wards 7 and 8 (Lake Chesterfield and Cherry Hills Areas). To address these issues, the City Council Members representing these Wards, along with the City Administrator, met with Ameren Missouri officials to discuss how to prevent this high frequency of service interruptions from continuing in the future.

Because of these discussions, Ameren Missouri has agreed to invest in a $400,000.00 upgrade project, which will involve upgrades to cables and a review of the entire system, including performing aerial inspections using innovative drone technologies to maintain and enhance reliability.

Starting on March 26, 2018, you may see drones performing aerial inspections in these areas, similar to the one pictured below. These inspections will only occur during daylight hours. Please contact Ameren - Missouri, at 1-800-552-7583, with any questions.

Phase 3 @ Community Park is Now Underway

Phase 3 has begun and the work has led to tree removal within the park site. This tree removal was planned and has been designed to be at the minimum amount necessary for the project's completion and being undertaken by DJM Ecological Services, which specializes in these types of projects. Accordingly, if you are in the park, you will probably see this work underway and wonder why these trees are being removed. The tree removal work will allow for the completion of the perimeter trail, the installation of additional parking in the north end of the park, the construction of small shelters, and the planting of the Great Meadow Area for future active and passive uses. Phase 3 Clearing Map is provided here.

Project Update - The Villages of Brightleaf - Town Center

The largest residential development, yet to be approved in Town Center, has begun home construction this fall and winter in Phase One of it. With March 1, 2018 now passed, the City's Grading Code allows for grading activities to begin again within the City of Wildwood. The developers of this large project have requested the necessary permits to begin Phase Two grading on the remainder of the 79 acre site. This development is located between Taylor Road and State Route 109, on the north side of State Route 100. Given its prominent location along this heavily-travelled arterial roadway, the area will change in appearance. For more information about this development, please click on www.cityofwildwood.com/brightleaf.
