Master Plan Update Letter

In the mail this week, you should have received a letter from the City regarding the Master Plan Update Process and the land use discussion that will occur over the next month. Along with the letter, the descriptions of the five (5) land use categories of the Master Plan and a map were provided. The map, given the size of the City … 68 square miles or larger than the City of St. Louis … may be difficult to read. The City has an interactive mapping program that will allow you to search on your property address and then you should be better able to determine where the boundaries of the different Land Use Categories are in relation to your home/property. You will then be able to use this more detailed map to decide if you’d like to respond. Follow the instructions below, if you'd like to utilize this mapping tool:

  1. Visit the Interactive Mapping Site.

  2. Click the ‘Property Search’ link in the left column menu, near the top, under Quick Links.

  3. Search using either your Name or Address.

  4. Once the property details appear, click the ‘Map’ link in the rust colored bar above the property details.

  5. You can then use the + or – buttons in the top left of the map to Zoom In or Zoom Out and take a closer look at your property and its relation to the Land Use Categories and their respective boundaries.

If you should have any questions regarding this information, please contact Kathy Arnett, with the Department of Planning, at (636) 458-0440 x135, or via email at Kathy@cityofwildwood.com. Thank you for your participation.

Public Safety Presentation: “Latest Terrorism Concerns of the Home Front”

Presented by Retired Creve Coeur Fire Protection District Chief Bill Brandes
Tuesday, September 29, 2015
6:30 p.m.
Wildwood City Hall

Unfortunately, hardly a day goes by without national attention being given to terrorist attacks world-wide. For that reason, the main focus of the presentation will be what the future holds for our citizens and how to best prepare our family and our community "to weather the storm".
The presentation will provide a brief overview of where we’ve been, where we’re now, and where we may be going in the immediate future with regard to terrorism. In addition, the presentation will discuss bio-terrorism, the “Lone Wolf Terrorist”, and the frightening concerns of an Electro - Magnetic Pulse (EMP) attack or even a solar EMP natural event.  Mr. Brandes will address these possibilities, with hands-on demonstrations.
