Job Opening @ Wildwood - Planning Technician

The Department of Planning and Parks with the City of Wildwood, Missouri is seeking candidates for the position of Planning Technician. Primary responsibilities include the processing of authorizations for building permits, responding to requests for information regarding the building permit process, coordinating the review of the applications between the respective City departments and St. Louis County, and other tasks, as assigned. The ideal candidate for this position will have a combination of permitting, public contact, and/or plan review experience or education in the fields of planning or engineering, along with a valid driver’s license. An Associate’s Degree in planning, engineering, or related fields could be substituted for lack of experience in the identified skill areas. The individual chosen for this position must be literate in Microsoft Office applications, with knowledge of other business machines a plus. The City of Wildwood, Missouri offers an excellent benefit package and above-average compensation for this position. Starting salary for this position will be $37,600, with midpoint at $48,300 per year. 2015 Farmers Market in Wildwood - This Saturday!

The City’s 2015 Farmers Market Season, at the Town Center Plaza (221 Plaza Drive), is coming to a close. However, your favorite vendors will be there this weekend, so come on by and enjoy the great weather, company, and locally made, grown, or produced items! The market opens at 8:30 a.m. and continues through 12:30 p.m.

11th Annual Tour de Wildwood – With Fall Temperatures - Its This WEEKEND

Fall colors, good company, challenging courses, food and fun, and you – what could be better? The event is scheduled for October 4, 2015, starting at Wildwood City Hall, 16860 Main Street. Last year’s tour had over 230 riders and great weather. There will be plenty of food, water, Gatorade, and other treats for entrants and, as always, in Wildwood, plenty of hills. Rockin’ Rockwoods - It's a Long Way There

October 10, 2015

Launched in 2014, and back for a second year, Rockin' Rockwoods is a 20k/53k ultra race held at Rockwoods Reservation, 1,843 acres of state forest and conservation area in Wildwood, Missouri.

Whether you're in it to win it or just to take it easy and finish, the aim is to have fun and help grow the regional ultrarunning community. Proceeds from the race will be donated to Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation.

Halloween Storytelling - Babler State Park - October 17, 2015 

In celebration of Halloween, come enjoy a storytelling program sponsored by MO-TELL, an organization of storytellers and other interested persons dedicated to spreading the joy and art of storytelling throughout Missouri. The evening will be filled with great interactive Halloween stories that the entire family can enjoy. The event will be held in the visitor center. Route 66 5K Run and Half-Mile Halloween Costume Fun Run

The City of Wildwood is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Wildwood Family YMCA for its annual Route 66 5K Run and Half-Mile Halloween Costume Fun Run, to be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at 8:00 a.m., at Wildwood Middle School.

Refreshments before and after the race, and a long-sleeved performance T-Shirt (5K only) are provided. The Wildwood Route 66 5K Run/Walk and Half-Mile Halloween Costume Fun Run is a great family event! This event will also benefit the YMCA Annual Campaign, which provides direct financial assistance to individuals and families in need. Your support has a meaningful, lasting impact right in your own neighborhood.

Historical Society Annual Bus Tour!

“School days, school days, dear old golden rule days…”

The Wildwood Historical Society's 16th Annual Bus Tour will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015.

The morning tour leaves at 9:00 a.m., while the afternoon tour leaves at 1:00 p.m., both from the Wildwood Historical Society (WHS) Meeting Hall, at 18750 Highway 100, Wildwood, MO 63039

Each tour will last about three (3) hours and will feature one-room schoolhouses of Meramec Township, including brief outdoor stops that are now private residences, and a tour of the City of Wildwood’s beautifully restored Old Pond School.

Please note bus seating is limited, and reservations are first-come, first-serve. Reservations are $35.00 per person, with lunch included. The Wildwood Historical Society (WHS) will confirm your reservation by e-mail, after it is received. Please click the link below for more information and the reservation form.  Questions? City Council Activity – September 28, 2015

  • Approved Bill #2125 amending the City’s Municipal Code relating to harassment on the citywide system of trails and parks.

  • Approved Bill #2126 authorizing the vacation of portions of two (2), existing five (5) foot wide general utility easements located upon adjusted Lot 6 of the Meridien Subdivision. (Ward Three)

  • Approved Bill #2129 authorizing the adjustment of certain common boundary lines between two (2) tracts of land, situated on the west side of Spicewood Drive, north of Wild Horse Creek Road, transferring 0.61 acres between these adjoining properties. (Ward Six)

  • Approved Bill #2130 authorizing a lot split plat of a 6.02 acre tract of land, known as ‘Adjusted Parcel2’, which was subject to a boundary adjustment plat approved in 2000, situated on the north side of Haystack Lane, west of Wild Horse Creek Road, for the purpose of subdividing it into two (2), three (3) acre parcels of ground, to be known as Lots A and B. (Ward One)

  •  A proclamation was presented proclaiming that the recreational use of marijuana is harmful to youth, and protecting youth from these harmful effects and consequences serves the well-being of our community.

  • Approved expenditures from the City of Wildwood’s General Operating Account pursuant to Chapter 140, Section 140.050 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wildwood.


The Shoeman Water Project Shoe Drive Continues at City Hall
